Visit of the Fordham students
Visit of the Fordham and South African Students from the Fordham UBUNTU programme at the University of Pretoria in Tshwane.
On the 1st of April 2015, CPLO hosted a group of ten American and four South African students, who are part of the Fordham university UBUNTU programme at the University of Pretoria, accompanied by Prof Booi Themeli from Fordham University, USA.
They were introduced to the members of staff and Interns who were present, and were shown a PowerPoint presentation on the history and work of the CPLO. This was followed by a discussion and question and answer session on the work of CPLO, the students’ own thoughts and studies, and various general questions on Parliament and South African politics.
The students seemed happy with the visit, and since there was not enough time for further discussion, they expressed the wish that if ever they came back to Cape Town, they would like a much longer engagement and discussion at CPLO, and maybe a trip to Parliament.
Prof Themeli promised to bring the next UBUNTU group to CPLO next year for a longer visit.
