Briefing Paper 577 – Mental Health: A Universal Human Right by Lois Law
Mental health is growing as a public health priority and human rights imperative. World Mental Health Day (WMHD) is observed every year on 10th October and October is Mental Health Month. The day is dedicated to creating awareness about the importance of good mental health. WMHD 2023 is an opportunity for people and communities to unite behind the theme ‘Mental health is a universal human right’ to improve knowledge, raise awareness and drive actions that promote and protect everyone’s mental health as a universal human right.1
